 Join Guy Gilchrist, the Award winning Cartoonist of Nancy®, Mudpie, Your Angels Speak and Jim Henson’s Muppets, and his staff of professional cartoonists and artists. for Summer Cartoon Fun for ALL ages in our Simsbury location at 237 Hopmeadow Street (Rt 10).
This summer is your chance to learn step-by-step, all of the secrets of cartooning you have always wanted to know. Guy Gilchrist and other top professional cartoonists are conducting a Summer Vacation Cartoon Camp in nine-week sessions of laughter and learning.

COMICS! COMICS! COMICS! ~ Learning how to draw and write your own comic strips, comic books and graphic novels! SUPER HEROES! MANGA! ANIME!
THE PAINTER'S STUDIO! ~
Paint with Acryllics, Watercolors, Pastels, Crayons and chalks!
COMPUTER ART! ~
Studies in Coloring and scanning in PhotoShop, and learning Flash Animation!
DRAWING FROM NATURE! ~
Everyday we play games, take walks, and draw outside in nature's classroom!
ANIMATION STATION! ~
Learn how to animate your own characters! Take home a CD with YOUR CARTOON ANIMATIONS!
CRAFTY CARTOONING! ~ Dough Sculptures, Papier Mache, Jewelry making, T Shirt, Fashion, and Costume design!
GAMETIME! ~ Social time with fun and games inside and outdoors! Camp Games, campSong Singalongs, Video Games, Kickball Tournaments, Dartball, Sport Toss, and outdoor and indoor Drawing and Art Games!
AWARDS! CONTESTS! PRIZES! ~ Special Days and Special Guests!
These sessions are FAST PACED, FUN and suitable for everyone from 7 - 15!
Camp students will also be visited by Special Guests to stir their imagination and creativity!

A Camp For All Ages, All Abilities, All Interests:
Hi, I'm Guy Gilchrist, Cartoonist, Author, and Founder of The Cartoon Camp And Cartoon Academy. I am the Owner, but this place really belongs to YOU. Our families, who have made it everything it is today! I believe it is the closest thing to Heaven that can be for a child who likes to draw! This camp is not just a series of classroom activities, but a full camp experience ! Each summer, we find new and exciting ways to make memories,educate, and entertain.
Our campers are split up into two "teams" for the session, with ages 7 to 10 together, and ages 8 to 15 together. (We also have found ways to integrate campers with special needs, who may be outside the standard age spectrum, so please ask).

 Each "team" splits up into age appropriate group projects and activities for 45 minutes at a time, followed by 15 minute playtimes, for breaks, games, extra freedrawing time, and socializing! There are drawing lessons, craft projects, painting on canvas and other media, computer graphics, traditional animation studies, and so, so much more!
I am present at every session. This isn't like some "celebrity" camp where the "name" shows up for one day. This camp, and every single camper and their family, are very important to me, and to each and every one of my highly talented and skilled staff.

Our Sessions hold only 30 campers per week, guaranteeing a lot of one on one care and teaching.
Our campers MOVE! Each project takes place in one of our three indoor classrooms, on our lawns, or out on the trail or the nearby sportsfields!
By changing the project venue, we keep our "Creative Genius Campers " , even the most fidgety ones, happy, having fun, entertained, and learning!
 Everyday at Lunchtime , all the teams get together, and we do something special. We might have a special art themed contest, special team games, awards, pizza parties, Special Guests, or other surprises!
Last year's special days included SuperHero Day Cake and Costume Parties, (SuperVillain Days, too!), and Special Guests including former Boston Red Sox players, former Chicago Cubs, Folk Singer Chris Sheehan, Adam Harris' Awesome Reptiles Show, A Fencing Demonstration, Famous Cartoonists, Geri Griswold's Bat Presentation.....I know I'm leaving some stuff out....WOW. We do a lot!
And THIS YEAR.....we've already scheduled even MORE! Every session has so, so much.

Student Safety
We have 3 instructors per 12 students on site at all times. Teachers and councilors are professional rescuers, and all our staff members are Red Cross certified in First Aid and CPR.
